Construct a water treatment plant up to 80 ML/day capacity to treat water from the Harris Dam for the GSTWS scheme.
WestConnex is a 33-kilometre (21 mi) predominately underground motorway scheme currently under construction in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The motorway scheme, a joint project of the New South Wales and Australian governments, encompasses widening and extension of the M4 Western Motorway (M4), a new section for the M5 Motorway (M5), and a new inner western bypass of the Sydney CBD connecting the M4 and M5.
Construction began on the $6.8 billion West Gate Tunnel in January 2018. Whitehall Street in Footscray has seen workers erect a site and begin clearing and excavating the land at what will become the northern portal of the West Gate Tunnel, which will link the West Gate Freeway in Yarraville to the CityLink in Docklands.
At the Whitehall Street site, workers will dig down more than seven storeys, which will act as the launching site for the project’s two 90 metre long, $50 million tunnel boring machines.
