Canberra construction giant Geocon has unveiled the “jewel in the crown” of its major city project, a $65 million luxury apartment complex directly opposite Glebe Park.
Envie would be built alongside Geocon’s Tryst and Metropol towers, marking the final piece in the developer’s $319 million redevelopment of its sprawling Cooyong Street land holding. The eight-storey complex would include 90 units, five commercial spaces and a rooftop garden on land at the corner of Boolee Street.
Due to be completed by mid-2020, Metropol features 247 units including one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses, and a 200sqm four bedroom penthouse.
There are also two-storey “SOHO” terraces with courtyards available, uniquely designed for residents to have an office downstairs and their living space upstairs—a nod to the increase in people working from home.
The project includes three iconic towers – the two tallest at 27 storeys – plus two lower-rise buildings, totalling circa 1,200 new apartments, a 130-room hotel and approximately 6,000sqm of commercial and retail accommodation including an anchor supermarket of 1,400sqm. Located on a 1.6hectare block opposite Lake Ginninderra, the precinct is well connected to surrounding open space and amenities, with easy links to the lake’s edge, cycle and walking paths and public transport. The site is also close to other commercial and office areas in Belconnen, UC Senior Secondary College, Canberra International Sports and Aquatic Centre (CISAC), Westfield Shopping Centre and the University of Canberra.
A striking new cultural destination is under development on Australia’s Gold Coast. Being delivered on a 16.9-hectare site within walking distance of Surfers Paradise, HOTA, Home of the Arts will be a heart for arts, culture and creative enterprise.
With new visual and performing arts facilities and a programmed outdoor artscape, the completed HOTA will support the city’s already thriving cultural evolution.
The concept for our new heart for arts and culture – created by ARM Architecture + Topotek1 – is the result of an international design competition and is the basis of a cultural destination for residents and visitors which will evolve in stages over the next 10 to 15 years.
With an art hotel, creative industries, cafes and other facilities, HOTA will come alive with 24-hour activity and a world-class artistic and cultural program.
Due for completion in 2019, the 235-metre skyscraper will be the tallest residential tower in Sydney’s CBD. Built for Chinese Developer Greenland, the development will house 479 spectacular 1, 2 and 3 bedroom luxury apartments, plus stunning sub-penthouse and penthouse residences across 67 levels.
Unique and revolutionary “Sydney Balconies” allow true indoor-outdoor connections with the glass-fronted balconies providing protection from wind and noise.
The building will also include retail tenancies, carparks and a creative hub as part of City of Sydney’s public domain works.
